Our client leads the cable industry in bringing the digital age into homes by transforming the way consumers get their information and entertainment. The Corporate Marketing Group provides direction, support and programs for the branding, marketing communications, channel relationships, customer insights and marketing strategy for its products.
Our client has committed to developing a pricing capability to help our regional operating units profitably grow in an increasingly competitive marketplace. As part of the Marketing Strategy and Intelligence team, but embedded within the West Coast Region, we seek a leader to help with the development and migration to enterprise-wide pricing strategies, as well as lead Regional specific pricing activities and competitive analyses.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Analysis
Analysis Lead the Regional pricing analysis efforts, including elasticity analysis, competitive analysis, promotional analysis, and product and fee pricing performance analysis.
Operations Lead partner with Regional staff to implement new pricing strategies, products, rate increases, and fees through product testing, billing systems, CSR training, on-line channels, etc.
Pricing Strategy Lead liaison between Region and Staff Pricing Strategy organization in pricing architecture and new product pricing efforts.
Regional Pricing/Promotion Strategies Guide and support regions in development of pricing and promotion strategies.
Regional Insights/Competitive Key Liaison between Regional and Pricing Staff regarding Regional business plans, competitive pricing dynamics, and regional insight
Modeling Contribute to the development of analytic pricing and promotion models to support regional decision-making and maximize overall profit. Apply models to Regional business to develop Regional operational pricing approaches
Reporting & KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Track, analyze, report on Regional key metrics and value captured from pricing activities.
Tool/Capabilities
Tools Contribute to the development of a set of tools (i.e. models, spreadsheets, etc.) for the organization to use that leverages world class pricing capabilities and techniques. Apply these tools within Regional area of responsibility and contribute to refinement of tools. Train and support organization in use of these tools.
Training Contribute to and provide support for pricing training across the organization as needed.
Learning Bring best practices into the company by participating in workshops, reading articles, and attending conferences.
| Requirements: | Bachelors degree in quantitative field, such as Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in quantitative role is required. MS or MBA is desirable.
Minimum of 5+ years experience in pricing/promotions, combination of strategy and operational preferred.
Seasoned manager with comfort level operating in a complex, matrixd organization with competing priorities and multiple dotted-line reporting relationships.
Strong analytical and modeling skills with knowledge of pricing models and statistics
Proven track record of innovative pricing accomplishments, in a large, complex organization
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and influence at all levels of the organization
Team player with strong collaboration and outstanding communication skills
General manager mindset that balances strategic thinking with practical business sense
Experience in large consumer-facing businesses
Experience in Excel, SAS or SQL
